Our MinistriesFor more than 80 years God has inspired the leadership of Child Evangelism Fellowship toward development of a number of unique ministries, which have proven to be effective tools in our effort to evangelize and disciple children.
Over 4,000 Good News Clubs are being held in public elementary schools across the USA. Good News Clubs are also held in homes, community centers, day care centers, churches, and apartment complexes; just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission.
Can we really teach the Bible in public schools in the USA?
Yes! On June 11, 2001, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Good News Club v. Milford Central School, 533 U.S. 98 (2001) that Good News Clubs can meet in public schools in the United States after school hours on the same terms as other community groups. This historic decision opened the doors of our public schools as a new mission field to teach God’s Word to thousands of children who would never hear about Jesus. What an opportunity! After School Good News Clubs meet once a week during the school year for 60 or 90 minutes. Children attend Good News Club only with their parents’ permission.
Good News Clubs are led by a competent team of Christians of various ages who volunteer their time and energy to teach children simply because they love children and desire that they come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and grow in Him. Volunteers are trained by Child Evangelism Fellowship to provide an exciting and informative club so that children will want to attend regularly. All team members sign the Child Evangelism Fellowship Statement of Faith and agree to abide by the policies of the organization. Those working within the program are screened according to the organization’s Child Protection Policy.
